today at school i got to be maitre 'd. It was pretty sweet. I got to wear a spiffy tie and I looked good, if you know what I mean. There was this awesome "fisher-price" register that I got to use to ring up bills. Had some really nice customers, and I convinced them to get dessert. And, it was just that good! I got to try it, yum. I miss being in the bakery. I think tonight I'll make some bundt cakes and some white cakes. I'll probably freeze the white cakes and decorate them some other time when I get bored.
Another thing-- I'm reading this book "Mere Christianity", it's pretty good so far. I have yet to finish the latter half. But that gives me something to look forward to.

So at school, I waitress in the gourmet dining room. Today was my first day. It didn't go bad at all. Except, I had a group of older ladies who didn't want anything except their main entree. So, I kept going out (pointlessly) to see if they needed anything and it was always no. No. No. no. no... we're fine here. It was a breeze, but it was so frustrating, cause I felt like Ihad to be there every second in case they changed their minds about something. But, if you know me, you know I tend to think about things way too much; I think this is one of those things.

fruit cake never dies!

Just read an msn.com article on a fruit cake that some guy found in his attic -from 1962!!! It said that the fruit cake hadn't changed in appearance, but that it still wouldn't be eaten. Thank goodness!!! Who eats forty year old fruit cake, let alone forty year old anything? Fruit cake is better left untouched, but hey folks, if you get one, let's not just let it sit in our attics, throw it away. Or have some fun, and just throw it (out a 2nd level window would be fun!)

A day in the life

Well, what a wonderful day. Woke up at the crack of dawn made it to class by 7:00. Got to count out 190 dinner plates, 413 bread and butter plates, 200 some dessert/salad plates, and 203 saucers. It was fantastic! Can't wait to do it again. Actually, it was ok. We were supposed to have 300 dinner plates, so I'd say that we are definetely missing a few (110 to be exact). Anyhoo, we got to leave super early at like 10.
I went shopping and found a cute cami. It was great, got home, cooked myself some fantastic fajitas. By the way, I love fajitas and if you have any favorite combos you should let me know. I'm always looking to spice up my food somehow.
I have work again in an hour, it oughta be a blast (not really). It will be slow and boring. Such is life sometimes.
Abby, my roommate, is pretty light headed these days. She calls it "giddy", but I know there has got to be a much better word out there to describe it! You can probably guess why too, she met a guy at work. She likes him alot. You can tell by the way she smiles :) when we talk about him. HAHA, it is so fun to give her some crap about guys after all the crap she's been giving me lately. Plus, she has more for me to tease her about than she does me. Whatever. Must go change...

it's about time...

Just got home from Watertown. Had a nice relaxing weekend. I was planning on leaving at 9:00, but I cut it really close and left at 10:00. Got to the apartamento at 1:40, worked at 2:00 (fell asleep, and was almost late for work). Me and Heidi had an awesome close! We got out by 8:10 (we close at 8:00) . Then I went to Target, bought a shirt for waitressing. I'm really not looking forward to doing that, but I guess it will be a nice change from inside the kitchen. I'm not really sure what to expect, each day ranges from 2 people to about 65. So, you could say I'm in for a few surprises... I'm an awful procrastinator, have to do laundry tonight. I think I could think about whether or not to do it longer than it takes to wash and dry a load (It's ridiculous, i know). Now I have something else to spend my time on, while avoiding doing the more important things. Oh well, hope tomorrow is a semi-decent day. I have to get up at the crack of dawn to get to class by 7:00. Then it's a full day, with no stops except half an hour to change and eat and drive to work. But, who am I kidding. It's not like it takes me more than 5 minutes to get to work.
